In 2014, a unique piece of property at the western end of Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos, became available. it is perfectly positioned for brilliant sunset views, set along an advantageous tide path that is progressively expanding its beach area, and adjacent to one of the premier walk-in snorkeling sites in the Caribbean. The property was one of the last of its kind on a beach that has consistently been recognized as one of the best in the world by leading travel publications. Most recently, Grace Bay Beach was named the World’s Best Beach in the 2018 Travelers’ Choice Awards by TripAdvisor.

Real estate investors and developers Matt McDonald and Jon Siegel moved quickly on this opportunity. They formed Vista Development, Ltd., and raised the capital necessary to acquire the property and develop it into a world-class resort. In addition to drawing on their own expertise gained through decades of successful real estate development in Turks and Caicos, they assembled a larger team with the specialized knowledge required to bring the full potential of this extraordinary property to fruition. In 2016, as part of this effort, McDonald and Siegel reached out to John Fair, who was one of their original development partners. Mr. Fair has a 30-year track record in real estate development and is a co-founder of the renowned and highly successful Grace Bay Club Resort in Turks and Caicos, which McDonald had invested in through ProNet Capital, LLC, a USA-based sister company of Vista Development. Mr. Fair joined Vista and is a valued member of the development team. The result of this collaboration is the first Andaz-branded property in the Caribbean and a unique contemporary luxury resort in the prime, central area of Grace Bay Beach.
